I was scrolling through Facebook and saw an article mentioning that there were 11 acres of sunflower fields that are in bloom in Potomac, Maryland – and that it was the peak day to visit them. I grabbed my camera, my dog, and my photographer and headed out during golden hour. It’s been on my bucket list to take pictures in a sunflower field, so I think I’ll definitely make this a tradition every year.
It was the perfect, summer day to visit these sunflower fields. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to walk through a sunflower field, but the sunflowers are a bit heavy and when they hit you it comes as a surprise! By the end of our visit, my dress was covered in red mud from the sunflowers. There’s also bees everywhere – which made for some pretty hilarious blooper pictures. All in all, it was a beautiful field and I had a great time.
The dress that I’m wearing is from forever ago, but I linked a ton of affordable, similar blue and white striped dresses in the bottom of this post. I love striped dresses, especially blue and white, since they’re timeless and they never seem to go out of style. I paired it with pearl earrings (classic), my gold Jack Rogers, and an anchor cuff from The Lucky Knot that I received as a gift.
